The start of wedding season
Even though I promised Amy I would blog about my date, I'm instead going to talk about weddings. I went to Kara and John's wedding today, which was very nice, and it was entertaining to hang out with people from lab, including one of the advisors, outside of work. And we took many trips to the car to "spice up" our dry drinks. But you know, I had high hopes for this wedding all because of Wedding Crashers! It's so true that weddings are perfect places to pick up women. The women are at a sentimental prime, just edging them even closer to hooking up with someone. And maybe somewhere in our heads, we think the men are going to be more sentimental because they just witnessed this powerful show of love (I know, who am I kidding). But really, they should even do the bouquet and garter toss earlier just so you can see who's single!
I don't want to feel like I'm "behind" in the game of love, but it's hard to not when it seems like everyone is engaged or married! I know it's definitely not everyone, but doesn't it sure feel that way? Especially when all those youngins are getting hitched!
I've been thinking some things I can't blog about. But I can say I'm trying to fight the feeling of regret, and it's only sort of working. :-/

Wedding season is tough. Good luck making it through.
We should hang out again soon-- give me a call.
I'd like to point out that wedding season (and I've already been to two in the last month) is tougher for the engaged crowd...it's a lot of pressure to see something you like and have to count the number of people there who will remember if you do the same thing at yours... :P
Good luck though, not too much longer until you get a summer break (too hot for weddings!) before the fall wedding season starts up...
dammit! where's the juice on the date???
well, if you're having trouble with the dudes at the weddings then maybe you should try your drunk, emotional, vulnerable chick friends. you're at the perfect time in your life to "experiment"! just a suggestion. ;)
Some interesting comments here...
Everyone gets married in the summer it seems - I only have one fall wedding and five this summer. But at least I'm learning what I like and don't like.
And Amy, Amy, Amy, that's an interesting idea, but I haven't given up completely on the male race yet! But I'll keep it in mind. :-p
