Grad School Part 3 - Stanford
I'm tired and still on east coast time, but I need to update you all on Stanford and everything. Here's a list:- Stanford is gorgeous, the people are great, the campus is beautiful, and I think I would have a lot of fun here.
- The Master's program is awesome; very hands-on as well as good in-class instruction.
- The guy that does the Master's program doesn't have a PhD, and there isn't a person that does similar research with a PhD. So I would have to find an advisor who I match well with to advise my thesis.
- I got the NASA Harriet Jenkins fellowship, which is awesome. It's a good deal, but not quite the NSF or NDSEG (DoD) fellowship. I'm really happy about it though.
- I didn't get the NDSEG.
- NSF is lame and was supposed to tell us yesterday but decided not to tell us for a few more days.
Department Score: 7
School/Area Score: 9
Overall Score: 8
I need to send some e-mails, mull this all over, talk to the profs at GT, and freak out because I have no idea what I'm going to do.
